The affects of Women's roles in society on Men

In the world we live in, society is demanding (what it terms to be) equality on all levels. Women should be able to hold all the same offices of men. They should be able to hold business degrees, law degrees, positions in government office, and do everything that only men used to be able to do. The same holds true with society’s viewpoint in other areas: Gays should have just as many rights as straight people. We need a president who is of a different race, we need a president who is a woman, and in the near future, we need a president who is gay. Morals and roles don’t matter anymore. We need to show everyone that we are equal in all areas.

The problem with this type of thinking is that it is a form of anarchy. It is the viewpoint to place everyone on the same playing field…or so it seems. It removes those who are best suited, and most qualified for a job and gives those positions to others just to establish the point of equality. True leaders are removed and the “leaders” that replace them have no rock to base any of their decisions on in life, they simply go with the most popular trends and ideas of the day, even if they are in no way sound or logical. This view destroys order and establishes confusion and darkness. After a time people don’t even know who to fight for or believe in and so they lose hope and faith in society and eventually in God.

In essence, men’s and women’s God-given roles are being changed to suit man’s desire. God gave man and woman equally important but different roles and responsibilities for a reason. It’s not that men are more qualified to hold high leadership positions, provide for a family, or even to be bearers of the Priesthood. Women are just as, if not even more, qualified as men to have such responsibilities. The issue here is not their qualifications but their role. Women have other roles that are equal in importance to a man’s role, just different. God has decreed that it is a man’s responsibility to provide, preside and protect and the woman bears the primary responsibility in the nurturing and rearing of her children.

The family is being attacked and destroyed as “equality” is being enforced. Men are being tempted on all fronts. Drugs and Alcohol cause them to lose their jobs, become angered and hostile in their homes, and abusive to all those around them. Pornography takes the focus away from love and turns it into lust. Fulfilling natural sexual desires becomes the only focus of the viewer’s existence, thoughts and actions. Video gaming eats away a man’s time and takes him away from his friends, family, and work.

All of these things are only of the few major addictions that are destroying men in their potential and role. They cannot provide, preside, or protect their family when they are under such influences.

At the same time women are also under attack. They are being tempted to lower their standards to match the ever-lowering guy’s standards. I’m sure Satan throws thoughts such as these in their head:
“With so many guys hooked on pornography, maybe I should lower my dress standards and then he’ll notice me, since my body image is all that he wants. Or, he is going to think less of me if I don’t go see this movie/listen to this music/go to this concert with him, even though it has things in it that are below my standard. If I truly want to be with a guy I need to lower myself to his level. And even though there are things that are red flags with him now I can change them once we are in a relationship. And on the flip side: Why even bother with guys? You are just as talented as and even more qualified than him. You should excel as high as you can in society. He’s not going to be able to provide for you (and your family) anyways. Plus even if you do get married it will just end in a divorce, so why bother. Marriage in this life isn't that important. If you want to make it into the Celestial Kingdom you can just pick up your husband there while you are waiting in line and then tick off the box as you pass through the gates. At the same time if you want to have children here, just go down to the local bar and have a one night stand with a guy. You don’t need a guy to raise your children, and it doesn't matter who you have them with.”

I am sure these are only just a few of the thoughts and temptations that Satan is throwing at women.

This is how Satan is teaching society to see Relationships and Companionships:

The first circle illustrates the societal view on relationships. Both are equal in this relationship. Both can excel at whatever they want and practically do whatever they want because it is in their half of the sphere and doesn't affect what the other does. Strengths, weaknesses, roles and responsibilities don’t really matter because our sides of the circle don’t cross. In fact it doesn't even matter if you are married in this sphere. You might as well just co-habitat together without the responsibilities of marriage.

The second circle illustrates the ever growing societal perspective for women to take over all that the man does so that her role encompasses not only what she does but what he does as well. “Why leave the providing up to him? I can take care of the house and kids just fine and so I might as well provide and preside while I am at it. Guys have never been very good at multitasking anyways. One less job for him will be one less job I have to worry about.”

The third and fourth circles represents the idea that girls don’t need guys nor guys girls. “You might as well both just live singly your whole life. Doing so will make life better for everyone. Or if you want to have a companion around the house, gender doesn't matter. Plus if you push hard enough you can make your civil union as binding as a marriage and just adopt kids as you want them.”

These are all ideas that Satan is throwing at us in regards to relationships.

At this point you may wonder what the point of all of this is, what am I getting at? Well, here it is: Girls are Amazing! You are all so incredibly talented! You can excel at anything and everything you set your mind to. You can do all that we can do and more. Quite frankly you don’t need a guy to get by in life, you can do everything by yourself. You've proved yourself in this regard time and time again. You don’t need us, yet, as guys, we need you. We aren't perfect, and aren't in any means as amazing as you. We are tempted and fall into sin and temptations all the time. We are stubborn and don’t like to shed light on any of our weaknesses, nor ask for help. We act tough and try to be tough on the outside, while the inside is being torn apart by Satan with doubts, fears, and all our inadequacies. We are trying to fulfill our God-given role, yet oftentimes fall short. And it doesn't help that the more women take over the role that we were designed to fulfill, the less we feel needed in society and in our homes. So what happens to us? We fall further and further away from our potential, lower our standards even more and become less and less of a use for anyone other than to keep the earth populated.

When a woman treats us and makes us feel that she needs us, it brings light back into our lives. We suddenly become empowered and feel that we have been entrusted with something special. Yes, we know that you can take care of yourself, but when you allow us to feel like we are needed it means everything to us. We need you, because you complete us. Let us be a part of your life. Invite us to do things with you and allow us to serve you. Our lives can complement and enrich each other. This is in fact the reason why the Lord designed us the way He did. We can be equal, but different at the same time. Where one has strengths the other may have weaknesses. Yet those differences are what make us complete.

The Lord’s view on Relationships:

The man and the woman are designed to complement and complete each other. Neither is whole nor complete without the other. Where one person has weakness the other has strengths and vice versa.
